Model Number: lat8826aae Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
Disconnected belts no smell.ran on spin for 4minutes. New belts ,stronger smell but machine still runs. Both belt pulleys under motor very very hot to touch. Help

I would pull the front cover off and check under the tub foe dirty water marks. If so, you have a bad tub seal and bearing. Take the belts off and turn the tranny in the spin direction. If hard to turn, that confirms it. If no water marks, you might have some item stuck in the basket. Just remove the tub top and check.
