Just started a few weeks ago. Washing a load and the clothes come out fuzzy. Not like lint so much, but like you ran the clothes over sandpaper, or sandpaper over the clothes I guess. Washer is 80 series Kenmore, and has performed flawlessly up until recently.

I felt around the inside and I don't feel anything abrasive or sharp in there, yet throw in a new t short and it comes out looking beat.

Any ideas? No change in detergent, no change in water (ie we haven't moved).

Is the thing just old? It's about 5 or maybe 6 years old.

Thanks!

Try to make a load smaller and/or increase the amount of water.

Check if it tries to agitate during spin. If it does then the gear case (transmission) has gone bad.

The model number you posted is incomplete.
