my washer would not drain spin or agitate, if I turned it off and let it sit for a while it would work again but eventually shut off again. I disconnected the motor from the drive system and ran it alone it would run for awhile make a squealing noise and then just hum.... i was pretty sure it was the motor , but then read a few posts about bad start capacitors now im not so sure, the motor would run but then would stop. any ideas???

The capacitor is just used to start the motor, so if it quits after it is up and running it is probably overheating and failing. Try changing out the motor.
