My little whirlpool washer stopped running first it wouldnt switch into spin cycle and no electrical sounds at all. After a little fildling with switches ran a low water level load just fine then quit again on trial run high water level..right now just fills then nothing but smell rubber now lid switch ohm read 0.5 timer seems to switch thru settings ok can i jump lid switch to see if that is the problem?

Its not safe or recomended but nothing says you cant jump that lid switch ... with an ohm meter the switch should say open with the lid open and closed with the lid closed
