Thank you kindly for taking an interest in my dire situation, Richappy. I checked the number again, on my (stackable) washer /dryer and the part # is what was posted last evening (3968821) .

You probably have a Whirlpool washer. Remove the panel under the top dryer, the ripply clamps and remove the outer panel. Remove the pump and check for blockage.

I'm I to take the panel under the dryer TOP off? And, can this be done with regular household tools? It's my washer that's having draining problems.

There is a panel above the washer lid when you open it, just take the phillips head screws out and remove. Then pry off the ripply clamps, remove the lid switch connector and slide out the washer panel.
