The bearing located just below the washer transmission needs to be replaced. Do i have to replace the whole transmission assembly or can i replace the bearing only, if so is your part # AP2131587 the part that i need. I've looked at the piece which houses the bearing but can't seem to figure out how or if that piece can be removed from the transmission shaft. Any suggestions? Thanks, wjt

The part you referenced slides into the bottom of the tub and the transmission shaft passes through it. If you are looking at the square bearing under the transmission housing and above the pulley, it is part of the transmission and must be replaced with it. The best way to service these washers is to remove the hoses inside along with the springs, and pull the entire tub assembly out and turn it over. There are lots of parts, but you cannot service anything under the tub while it is still in the cabinet.
