My washer will fill up with water(hot or cold) but when the agitation starts the motor just hums. It will not agitate. I took the front off and played with it a little and noticed that water pours out of plastic pan with a spout on it to let it drain away from atop the motor. I tried to spin the pulley by hand but it won't budge. I can turn the agitator from inside the tub counter clockwise but not clockwise. Any ideas?

If you will post a model number so we can see exactly what machine you have we may be able to help.
thanks

Maybe you can help me find the model number. I don't see anything on the outside of the machine. It just says signature. I think it is the motor that has the small pulley driving the belt that has different sets of numbers. Are those numbers for the whole machine or for that part? The unit was given to me and I don't think there was any manuals with it. I will double check though.

See if it is on the back, or inside the lid of the washer, those are the usual places.

I think the water has leaked into the transmission and caused it to freeze up. I also think your better decision is to replace the machine.
Sorry not to have better news or suggestions.
