Control,

The F70 and F71 codes indicate two things, either a bad CCU(central control unit) or UIC(user interface control) for one reason or another they are not communicating.

Here's a quick test procedure to help determine which part you may need:

First unplug the power cord, and remove the top of the washer( 3 screws across the back and slide the top back, until the hidden clips release the top).

Possible Causes/Procedure
Check for continuity of the User Interface harness.
Check wire harness connections to the User Interface and the Central Control Unit.
If the drum is not rotating, unplug the MCU from the CCU (the MI3 or M13 connector). If the code disappears, replace the MCU. If the code does not disappear, replace the CCU.
Replace User Interface if drum is rotating.
