I have a maytag washer that is in great shape but may have a bad timer. The timer seems to get stuck on cycle 8 of 16. It sat on that cycle for an hour agitating. Does anyone know how long cycle 8 takes? If I advance it forward then it will work fine, even in the spin cycle. Is there a way to check the timer?

8 means 8 minutes. it is obvious that it needs a timer if it agitated for an hour. Tom
