The drive belt came off causing the tumble action or spin not to work.

Purchased a new belt from a local dealer. Compared it to the old one to make sure I had the correct belt.

The problem I'm having is installing the belt. You can not just slip it on. The belt won't stretch enough to get it on the pullys. I do not see any tension adjustment device.

Please advise.

Ron,

Check if both pulleys are aligned properly and the drum pulley is not playing in and out. If not then the rear drum bearing has gone bad. This is one of the most common cause for the drive belt to come off.

What is the part number of the belt you bought? Is this the original part? That could be a problem too because the original belt is elastic and designed to "give" enough for installation.

The correct part number for the belt is 134051000 which is Appliance Parts Pros part number AP2108082

Here are the break down diagrams and the parts list for the Gibson washer Model GWT645RHS0
