Washer purchased in Jan 09 seems to have control panel issues. Stops in cycle (seems like at 27 minutes most times, but at other points, too. WOuld like to replace the control panel. Questions

  • Is this the right part: Part Number: AP4358809
    Made by Frigidaire?
  • is model GLTF2940FS the same as model GLTF2940FSO?
  • A prior answer listed this site Electrolux Major Appliances Service Website to get manual instructions on how to open up and replace it, but it's a password protected site. Is there a manual online (one didn't come with the washer when we bought it new)
  • Other discussions mention "diagnostics"... nothing in our literature mentions self diagnostics, is there someplace we can go to find out how to run a test?
The motor has already been replaced (the repairman thought that that was the answer) and it's $100 per service call.... This shouldn't be happening with a 2 1/2 year old machine.

Help.

Well first of all it should not be happening, but this is life with front load washer with electronic controls, and the reason folks like us try to avoid them at all costs.

That is the right part number and the models numbers are the same.

There should be tech notes inside the lower service panel that will tell you how to generate error codes and test the machine. If you cannot get diagnostics, that is a pretty good indication the control unit is bad.

Here is a link to the service manual, see if that will get it to you without a password.
