These pumps are pretty strong (GE makes good pump, rest of the machine ??) so there is a good probability that your problem is something stuck in there. Pumps and drain lines of front loaders get debris all the time.
To get to it, take off the lower service panel.
Get a pretty good sized pan to catch the water and gunk that will come out when you take off the cleanout plug which you can do by turning it counterclockwise a couple of times and pulling on it.
If you still need to remove the pump, disconnect the drain hoses (GE says this is not easy, so be patient and keep at it), then disconnect the wires and the screws that hold the pump on and it will come out.
