water appears on the floor as the drum is filling beyond half full.Is this easy to repair? My guess is that the drum seal is at fault. Gary

The front panel of your machine is held in place by retainer clips. Release the clips at the bottom corners, as you simultaneously pull outward on those corners. As soon as the panel is free from the clips, it will hinge up and away from the cabinet.

With the front panel removed, set the machine in a fill cycle and you should be able to spot where the water is coming from. Tell us what you find.

Thanks for your assistance...I've taken the front panel off the washer, and observed the seal of the agitator shaft seal leaking once the drum fills a little more than half full. What size, and type of fastener is used to hold the agitator in place?I've tried allen wrenches and screwdrivers, but am unable to get either to engage in what appeats to be an allen screw...are you quite sure that a bolt is used here?...or is a special tool needed to loosen this fastener.
Thanks,Gary

It's a TORX (Star shaped) Size T-15. By your description, it sounds like you need to replace the tub seal. It comes in a kit that includes a new spinner support stem. Usually, this is replaced along with the tub bearing.

It isn't the easiest job to do, but not outside the ability of the average mechanically-inclined repair person. A pro can have it done in about an hour. Figure on it taking you a weekend at the very worst.

Thanks very much...I'll have to go to Sears for a torx bit that long.I don't think a 3/8" drive extension will fit through that hole in the agitator, will it?...
1/4" drive probably will though.I have'nt seen a T-15 torx that long...any suggestions?
Thanks again,Gary

The set screw is on the side of the agitator; not down inside it. About two inches above the wide base of it, you'll see a round protrusion, inside of which is the set screw. Loosen the screw, and the agitator will lift off the shaft.
