Washer stops 4 or more times during cycle. Replaced timer, wax motor and machine control board, still has same problem. Any ideas? Also cleaned water inlet screens.

The motor control unit is a likely source of the problem. Depending upon your series you may also need to replace the motor which comes in a kit with the new controller and other parts. Check with APP and provide them with your serial number and they can direct you to the right parts.
Before spending money check out the wiring between the motor, motor control unit and the main CCU.

I installed a new motor and motor control board this afternoon as suggested in your e-mail. I plugged in the washer and put in a test load of laundry. The washer started up and ran normal, until the first rinse cycle and stopped. I pressed the start button and the washer continued to run until finished. The new motor doesn't look as heavy duty as the original, but it works. What do you think the problem might be now? Also do you think I needed to change out the machine control board I replaced last week? Waiting to hear from you. Thanks

I think you need to check the wiring as we suggested earlier.
Plus, it sounds like it worked after that first time it quit. Is this correct?

Yes the washing machine completes the cycle and shuts down when finished, but it stops at the beginning of the first rinse cycle (sometimes the first and second rinse cycles) and then works until finished. All the wires appear to be O.K. and connected to the appropriate terminals. I disconnected and reconnected each wire or set of wires to their terminals and control boards. If I need to check some of the wires separately, what color are they and to what do they connect, and what should they read, ohm, volts, or what?

You need to test each wire for continuity, but given the problem in the end you may just have to replace the wire harness and hope for the best. This is a very difficult problem to diagnose, as you have already experienced and sometimes just replacing wires is about the best you can do.
