Washer makes a banging noise in all cycles. The banging seems to be coming from the front of the machine near the motor. I have observed it with the front cover off and the belt seems to be getting looser also. Any help would be appreciated.

I would check the belt. See if it has chunks missing out of it or if it is burnt. A belt going bad can make quite a bit of noise.

The belt is in really bad shape. Almost cut through in a few places.

Is replacing the belt pretty straight forward.
