The washer has been making a sqeaking noise for a couple of weaks and yesterday it quit agitating and spinning. The belt is fine along with the tension. The pump works as does the motor. I have taken the inner drum off to expose the spline shaft. It does not turn either manually or by operating the motor. The pulley connected to the transmission turns freely. I assume the transmission is seized. Is this model worth repairing?

Worst case: Replacing the transmission. Here's the part your machine takes. Figure on a pro finishing the job in about an hour (that is, if every other component is OK). Compare the cost to that of a good (maybe even used) replacement machine. You're the only one qualified to make the right financial decision here. Part number: AP4373431
