My washer keeps stopping mid-cycle. It has something to do with the switch - I used to be able to push down on the lid above the switch and it would resume the cycle.

It's gotten worse and now I have to push the switch down and put a plastic piece between the switch and the washer to keep it compressed. Even if I do this when I put a load in, it still keeps stopping mid-cycle (after the wash/before the rinse cycle stops).

Should I replace the switch? Is the timer having an issue also?

I thought so.

Glad it's not the timer at least.

Could you post the link to taking apart a washer? I remember seeing it before posted somewhere here.

Thanks!
