Machine makes a load grind with or without clothes in the wash cycle, I removed the front panel and cover and watched it in wash cycle and the agitator does not move. Spine cycle works just fine. Is this an issue with just the agitator or is it an issue with the trans. Please advise on other possibilities to check out.

If the belt is moving fine and turning the pulley it is likely a failure of the transmission.
