Model Number: mah4000aww Brand: Magic Chef Age: More than 10 years
does not want to shut off or unlock door. I need to turn dial to another off area and play with it to unlock

The first thing you always want to check on these models is the control board, and look for burnt reistor. If the machine has the original wax motors that control the door lock, their falure results in a board failure and an expensive repair.
