Cycle comes to a point when agitator is supposed to start agitate. Howeer, instead of agitating, you can hear a buzzing sound for few seconds, and that's it. The washer is 17 months old.
Un/related problem is that water is not draining either. Drain pump may be OK, but since it's direct drive it can't drain?
Please advise - thanks in advance. Dan

Please advise - thanks in advance. Dan My 14 year old Whirlpool LSR7233EQ0 washer did the same thing. The humming quits when the thermal cutout trips. Mine has a 2-speed direct drive motor and the low speed burned out. Replaced the $99 motor, problem solved.
