My washer's timer knob is broken - its a GE WLSR2000G2WW. It doesn't push in and pull out properly. When I looked inside there is this white timer box and I can't get it open to look inside. How the heck do you get this box off to see what's going on with the knob connection? Hope this makes sense. Here's a picture of the part I can't remove. Thank you in advance for any help you can provide!!

Anyone have any ideas here? I'm totally frustrated with this thing and know they're going to charge me and arm and a leg to come out. Thank you!

The knob is held on with a clip, pull the knob out and use needle nose pliers to remove the clip.

There are screws in the top of the console, take them out and you get to the timer.

The timer itself is not repairable, but check the knob and see if the little ridges have worn off and if so that may be your problem.
