Washer fills properly on small, medium, and large settings, but at ex large and super it overfills and overflows. Is there a float or something else?

There is no float, the fill level is controlled by an air pressure switch. There is a tube from the switch to the tub, and as the tub fills water goes into the tube, air pressure in the tub rises, and when it reaches a pre-determined level it trips the switch.
Sounds like there is some debris in the tube, clean it out and see if that does not fix things.
