I think your model number has a typo, but if this is a basic Maytag Atlantis you can release the top from the front by inserting a screw driver or putty knife in the gap between the top and the front near the edges to release clips that hold the top to the cabinet. The top will flip up and you can then take out the screws that hold the front on and get access to the belt.
