Whirlpool catalyst
Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
My washer will not wash. It will fill with water and go into wash cycle but only buzzes. I drained the water and tried to turn the drum by hand and it will not.
I pulled the agitator there is nothing in it. I laid the machine on its back and the clutch feels free and I can turn the tub from underneath? Help. Ads By Google

Well this is one of the more complicated machines ever designed and built, but it does have some built in diagnostics and error codes.
Here is a link to the service manual. You are going to have to go through the entire testing mode and see if you can get an answer for the problem. https://secured.whirlpool.com/Servic...LE/4322673.pdf
