Default Washer Leaking
Model Number: unknown   Brand: Whirlpool   Age: 1 - 5 years

I have a Whirlpool Gold top loading washer. There is no model number available. I have checked the entire washer and also spoken directly with Whirlpool. The data plate cannot be found.

The leak appears to be coming from the bleach reservoir. It leaks during the fill cycle and the water that leaks is soapy.

I plan to remove the part and take it to an appliance part store. Maybe they can identify it since I have no model number.

Any ideas?

It's most common for the whirlpool made direct drive washers to leak from one place, the water pump.

You could check this by running some water into the washer and then pump it out once it starts to leak.

Tip the washer back and look up under it. The water pump is located front, bottom center. You should see were it drips yet after you pump the water out.

Here is a little guide that shows you the water pump.

Did you check the frame under the lid for the name plate? The proper model number is very important for better diagnosis.
Gene.

Hi Gene,

I have a Kenmore Dishwasher (model number 17735791) and every 6 to 10 times of use it leaks water below the door. I have already replaced the gasket that goes around the door, but it continues to leak, any ideas to what i could do next??? thanks

Did you see a bubbles inside the dishwasher when it was leaking?

What is the complete model number of the dishwasher?

Gene.

The only what I can recommend at this time is to wait until it will leak again, open the door and check for bubbles inside.

Did you use a rinse aid?

Gene.
P.S. There are suppose to be 3 more digits in front of the model number.
