Add garment light flashing ,door locked . replaced ccu. tried 2 different boards. still have error / f-01. could anything else cause this error state? all components ohm out properly.

Well now you know the frustration of servicing these machines, as when the error code does not really tell you what is wrong.

I would check the wiring between the door lock assembly and the CCU, and if it checks out I would try replacing the door lock assembly on spec.

Yeah, I know, not a scientific diagnosis, but this is what Whirlpool techs do when confronted with these problems. They keep replacing components until the machine gets fixed.

thanks for the reply . as is turns out the MCU motor control unit was fried. . I found a posting from a year ago . some poor soul who went through 2-ccu ,2-latch assemblies and a pressure switch before trying the mcu. which is the fix. thanks again. living the clean dream here.

Interesting, but a good example of how the built in diagnostics do not diagnose the problem.
