 Hi, this is a laundry center washer model. when the washer goes into spin and you lift the lid the washer coasts to a stop thier is no braking action are sound of anything trying to stop the basket. Everything else works, the lid switch stops unit during agitation are even when filling if lid is not closed at the end of fill it just waits to be closed and operation continues. Is there some type of brake are is it in the transmission? Thank You

There is no brake on these models because the lid lock switch is supposed to keep you from opening the machine during the spin cycle, so it prevents you from sticking your hand in the spinning machine and breaking your wrist (yes that does happen)

Either your lid lock assembly is bad, or the timer is bad, but you should get it fixed because it is a significant safety feature and you don't want the broken wrist thing.
