My Maytag washer doesn't agitate or spin. It sounds like it is, but there's no movement when I open the lid. What's the fix?

Take off the front and observe the motor as it is trying to agitate or spin. If the motor is moving, then something is probably hung up in the transmission.

Also check the pump to make sure there is no obstruction.

If the motor will not turn it is likely the problem is with the timer or the wiring to the motor or the motor itself.
