Our Whirlpool washer machine uses hot water in all cycles and only works 2-3min., then stops, drain the water and shows code F-05.

Well here is what the error code means.

Water Temperature Sensor Error

If during the water heating step in the wash cycle, the water temperature sensor (NTC) value is out of range, or the heating element circuit has failed, the “F/05” error
code will be displayed.

Potential Causes

• Check the Water Temperature Sensor, Heating Element and Element Relay
• Check connections to the Sensor, Heating Element and Relay

Look under the top cover, or inside the lower service panel and you should find some tech notes that will tell you how to test things.
