Model Number: 2 speed heavy duty top loader Brand: Maytag Age: More than 10 years
In Regular mode, the washer runs through the rinse cycle, fills up with water, then should drain as it spins. The spin does not start so the timer moves on and gets to the end of the cycle, leaving a tub full of water.
There are three modes, Regular, Permanent Press and Gentle. Regular and Permanent Press have the problem. If I move the dial to the Gentle cycle, it will spin up and drain just fine. When I move the dial to spin on Regular and Permanent Press cycles, there is a short (1 sec or less) thump (like the motor takes a power hit to try and spin) but nothing happens. This is a Maytag 2 speed top loader so I'm guessing that something is wrong with the Regular speed and the Gentle speed is OK. Any help will be most appreciated. Ads By Google Related Models |
