Kenmore stack washer stops working then works
Model Number: 417.98702890 Brand: Kenmore Age: 1 - 5 years
I have a Kenmore stack washer/dryer and tonight I noticed that the washer would was running (it was starting the rinse cycle) and then it stopped working. The lights in the house flickered. Then about 10 minutes later I heard the washer start draining again then it stopped again (lights flickered again).
I turned the dial all around to try to get it to spin or fill up with water but nothing happened. I left it on the fill (beginning cycle) and about 10 minutes later I heard the washer fill with water again. I don't think it was the motor because when the washer wasn't working it wouldn't even fill with water when I turned the dial. Why the washer wasn't working I tried the dryer and the dryer was working. I don't think it's the timer, but what do I know, I'm looking for professional help  Any ideas? Related Models

Remove the access panel between the washer and the dryer and look for the envelope with the tech sheets. It is very hard to say what is wrong in such situation. The washer has to be diagnosed step by step according to the wiring diagram. Guessing is not a good way to fix anything.
