I replaced the belts on My Maytag washer because i smelled buring rubber and they looked shot. With the new belts on, there is little tension on them. The springs on the lower motor assembly seem ok. Any idea what else could cause this? Thanks in advance!

Adjust the pump belt tension as described in the Service Manual (page 3-31).

Here are the break down diagrams for the Maytag washer Model LA882
