I have a Whirlpool Cabrio, wtw6500ww1 washer. The lid lock broke and we replaced it. The washer is now showing the dU code and will not clear. I know this may sound strange but when you unplug it the lock locks but when it is plugged in the alert beeps and the dU code comes back. We had tried to do the diagnostic test but since it will not go into stanby mode it wont work. We called Whirlpool and they were of no help. I am really hoping that someone on here can help and quickly as I really need to get my washer working again. Thanks for any help you can give.

Well this is just plain weird.

My first thought is that the replacement lid lock is defective. I would try to return it to the seller and explain why you want it replaced.

Here is a service manual which will show you how to do some testing on it before you send it back if you want to.

If the replacement fails, then I think the main control unit is the next likely culprit.
