Model Number: unsure Brand: Admiral Age: More than 10 years
I have an Admiral 20 lb washer which is at least 11 years old. We have newer hoses that were attached by our plumber along with easy to use shut-off valves. We are very careful about shutting off the water after we are finished using the machine.
We used the washer Sunday. Today, Thursday I went to run a load and there were a few inches of clean-smelling water in the washer. I ran a quick spin to get it to drain then used the washer normally. I just checked it now, 8 hours later and it is dry. Is this a inlet valve issue? That doesn't seem likely to me since the water is off at the pipe. I don't know that it is the drain either since the water smells and looks clear. How do I test either of these things? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Ads By Google Related Models |

Since you shut off water to the machine, I think what happened was that the tub did not drain completely from your previous wash, and that was the source of the water that you found.
The next run may have cleared out a small blockage, so keep checking after each wash and if the tub is empty you should be fine.

Thanks for the input. That wasn't the issue, though. We had someone over to take a look and there's an issue with the backflow valve in the waste line. |
