Angry Tub Unbalanced
Model Number: 110.23832100   Brand: Kenmore   Age: 5 - 10 years

Tub unbalanced, checked and the only problem that was found was there are two plastic catch cups with a brass pin laying in one of the, are they suppoed to go up through the tub mounts. I took the cups off and fixed without cups, there was improvement. Spins okay when it starts but it becomes unbalanced after about 30 seconds??????

the cup you mention are the catch cup for the shipping pins. you do not want the shipping pins in when you are using the washer, only when shipping. as a matter of fact make sure the pins are out. the next this to check are the springs, there are 3 aroung the tub and a counter balance one at the rear, usualy the counter balance spring wears out or wears through on older machines. if worn through you can, make a new one. small guage bit fairly close to the original hole. check the springs and post your findings. good luck
