I am going to use repair kit to repair auger on my washer. I got Instruction Sheet 285588 Rev.D 1/99 with parts oredered. This sheet has insert cirlced with arrow pointing to the end of agitator shaft. This insert reminds to break off and remove tabs on agitator shaft.
I am not sure that this is a correct recommendation because replacement part baloon 9 on exploded view posted on your website has two slots perfectly positioned to get ingaged with those tabs.
On the top of that, my washer still has those tabs up and part baloon 9 snags on them.
Please explain what could happened if I am not break off and don't remover tabs.
