Model Number: GSW9800PW2 Brand: Whirlpool Age: 5 - 10 years
The water level control knob lost tension and would spin freely. Washer still works, but is stuck on "medium" water level. I ordered a new part #8528337, but noticed that the new one turns freely as well. The part came with a new hose and a small "tension clip" for lack of a better word. Now I suspect that my old one was not broken at all - that it had to do with the little clip, but there are no instructions and no obvious place that the clip might go. Help!

I didn't see anywhere it could possibly go, but I'll have another look... Thanks!
