Pull away front panel and remove water pump and motor. Turn tranny coupler clockwise till tub starts turning. If it's very hard to turn with two fingers, you have dragging brake shoes or something stuck in the tub.
Shine a bright lite in the spin basket and look for something. If nothing, you probably have dragging brake shoes. Remove agitator and loosen drive block nut on top of the spin basket, pound on the nut and pull up on the spin basket, basket should break loose. Remove tranny and pry down brake shoes and spin tube. Remove spring and C clips and brake shoes and order new ones. If not available, you can fix your brake shoes by grinding down the pads 1/4 inch or more and re-install.
