Default Maytag Washer Inlet valve - water level switch
Model Number: LAT8405AAM   Brand: Maytag   Age: More than 10 years

I have an older Maytag Washer - it has been perfect. Started a slow leak just under the tub in the central seal / bearing, which was successfully replaced. At the same time, any scale and scum inside the unit was completely cleaned away. Overall a very clean unit anyway - no oil leaks or anything serious, and all belts were replaced. After this we noticed the water level is up above the top level of tiny holes / ports inside the drum, on Extra Large Load Settings - I understand this is about 3/4" too high, as when the spin cycle first begins, and the drum begins to turn, it sloshes about 1-2 quarts of water out over the top of the drum. I have cleaned the hose going to the water level switch perfectly, and I can blow through it easily now - it was not that easy at first. There is a screw on the diaphragm for the water level pressure switch, and you can turn it in (clockwise) or out (counter-clockwise). I want to know what to do to lower the water level about 3/4" on Extra Large Load fills, please. PLEASE HELP ME OUT.
THANK YOU KINDLY IN ADVANCE.
