My Maytag wont spin. It tries to spin (However it makes a loud noise) like a teacher using fingers on a chalk board, then it comes to halt.

I change the brake rotor, thrust bearing kit, belt, stator, spring, timer, yesterday. I did notice when taking off the brake parts, it had no snubber ring, so by instruction from someone.. i put back the brake like it came off, with out the snubber ring..

When I tried to put the Snubber ring on - it seem to not fit because of the off center position the washier was in i guess.. so i just left it off... Can someone help me with releasing the brake it seem to be stuck.
