Model Number: SAV365AAWW Brand: Maytag Age: 5 - 10 years
I have had this washer for aprox. 6 - 7 years and in the first year during the warranty it bagan to make this loud noise during the spin cycle. The place where I bought it repaired it under warranty, but now 4 -5 years later it is making the same noise it did the first time. Not sure what was replaced the first time, but I am sure it is a bearing or bearings that is making the noise. I just would like to repair it myself as I am an outside service technicin for a major compressor company and am very mechanically inclinded. I have read the problems with the other models of the Maytag washer and would like to know if this includes this particular one that I have listed that I have. If so could you please let me know what I would need beside the two bearings listed in the parts break down as I am sure the seals would likely need to be replaced as well and would think it would be good idea beings one is right there when the bearings are being replaced.

Yes, I think you want to replace the triple lip seal. Two issues. One is that Maytag has redesigned this part so make sure you get the right one, your serial number is important when ordering.
The second point is that you need some special tools, and detailed instructions which Maytag has published in a Service Bulletin which they do not make available. See if the bulletin and detailed instructions are provided with the part, and if not, contact Maytag and see if they will get you the info.
