I have a Maytag LSE7800ACE stackable washer that when the timer is activated it wont stop.
it goes from permanent press to the next washing mode over and over. It also agitates while it is filling with water and starts counting down through the cycle as soon as it is turned.

Your best bet is to replace the timer. If you buy from this site and the part does not fix things you can return it, see the returns policy for details and conditions.

Ok, try switching out the water level pressure switch, this part here. Part number: AP4009574
Make sure the tube to the tub is clear, but the switch itself is most likely the problem. Given that it would not shut off I think the timer was probably needed also, but if you still have the old one, and the new pressure switch fixes things, you can re-install the old one and if it works return the new one.
