Dryer is not drying properly. Takes about 3 cycles to fully dry clothes. There is some heat however. So far I have checked the heating element itself for any breaks and with meter. Checks out fine. I then scoured online for help and concluded the most common culprits are the thermal cutoff switch, high limit thermostat but these also checked out fine as well. Then I suspected I had found the problem in the internal bias thermostat because I read somewhere that 2 of the leads on it should read 0 ohms and it did and the other set should read 7 ohms and it didn't. Excited with the anticipation of a fix I ordered the part from AP PROS only to be disappointed as this didn't fix the problem. I at my wits end with this but it's not in me to simply give up, after all it's only 6 yrs. old and a higher end unit with the bells & whistles. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated.

Signed,

Wayne,

Are you sure you have at least 220 VAC at the terminal block, when the dryer is running and heating ? (you should also check each hot leg to neutral for 110 VAC minimum on each leg) Low voltage can/will cause the heater to not heat properly.

On you new thermostat you should be able to read 4.8 ohms resistance across the 2 small terminals(purple wires) if the bias heater is OK, and a closed circuit across the 2 larger terminals at room temperature.

At the temperature selector switch, on the lowest heat setting, you should read 10 ohms resistance from the blue to purple terminals on the switch, and 10,000 ohms resistance when you select the highest temperature setting.

You may have a weak hi limit thermostat on the heater assembly, since all the thermostats and fuses check OK.

Mechanically, you may have to check both the inlet and outlet tunnels and blower assembly and lint catcher for clogs or obstructions.

Your hi heat exhaust temperature should average 155 dgs, if you have a cooks pocket thermometer, and align the end of the probe in the exhaust air flow while the dryer runs and heats,

Let us know what you find, and we'll have a better idea of what else may be wrong.

The resistance across the small terminals of the cycling thermostat should be like 4 K ohm, not 4 ohm.
Most probable problem is a burnt wire. When you run the dryer empty, the output temperature within a minute, should go to 145 degrees.
If you open the door and check the color of the heater, it should be a bright orange color.
Another thing to check is a clogged lint screen.
