My Maytag washer is leaking badly, mainly when it spins.I believe the water is coming from the diverter valve. I checked all the hoses and connections (I wrapped each in a paper towel then plastic wrap to isolate each one - all the connection were dry but water was leaking down the left side of the diverter).
Could I have cracked the diverter when tightening hose clamps? Or could it have been damaged when the machine was tipped back to change belts? Can you give me some hints about replacing the diverter - it's awfully hard to reach! Thanks.
