Model Number: 110.22942100 Brand: Kenmore Age: 5 - 10 years
Washer Details: Manufacturer: Kenmore Model #: 110.22942100
On a regular cycle the washer tub fills up according to the load and starts to agitate. When I put it in a spin cycle, the water drains and I hear the motor making noise, but the tub will not spin, so the cloths will stay drenched. This implies the Switch is working, since the motor is spinning and stops making noise when I open the lid. I took out the motor, clutch and transmission assembly, when I spin the motor clockwise, the clutch starts to spin, so the transmission is okay. The plastic actuator is also not broken. Now there are two things that could be bad: the clutch or the brake. What should I do to see which of these are broken? What physical damage should I look for? Is there is something else? Thank you for any help, I have spent all day trying to fix it. The brake coupler is also not broken or worn out. Ads By Google Related Models |

So now it is spinning but it seems unbalanced. I have made a video of this check it out:

You probably have a worn clutch and bad brake shoes. If it still shakes when the washer is empty, you may have suspension problems, just check the springs.
You can do the tranny coupler test in my sticky, "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes".

thank you so much for your time and help.
When I spin the tranny couple couter-clockwise, it agitates normally, but when I spin it clockwise, it rotates for a while and then it stops and starts to rotate again. So is it just the tranny then or should i still just replace the clutch? Should I open up the transmission and see if there are broken gears or something? Thanks again. |
