I am putting a new transmission in my maytag washer lat model and was wondering if anyone knows what lubricant maytag originally used on the spline shaft on the transmission. I see that some type of grease was used because there still is some inside where the transmission shaft goes into. Some say just use white lithium grease but I don't think that is what was orignally used. Any help would be appreciated.
