Washer suddenly started making a new noise a couple of days ago. It is working properly so far, but I can here a sound like an egg timer ticking during the wash cycle agitation only. It does not make the sound during rince cycle agitation, or while filling, draining, extracting, or spinning. Please help...maybe I can fix it before it breaks!! Thanks!!

In order to fix this noise we have to find out where it's coming from. Remove the front panel and open the control panel. Run the washer as usual and try to pinpoint the noise. Post the results. Here are the break down diagrams for the GE washer Model WJSR2080T6WWGene.
