The motor-to-transmission coupling has failed on my top-loading, direct-drive washer. There is no clearance for a wrench to remove the motor from the mounting plate. Do I need to remove the transmission/motor assembly, grind down a thinner wrench, or is there some trick that I am missing?

There should be some big clips on either side of the motor you can remove to move the motor out. This breakdown may help Model LSQ9544KQ0Nat
