Washe quit spinning all together

For the last two weeks, the washer would not spin, I could reach in and spin the tub counter clockwise, and you would here a click and the washer would spin again. Now I cannot do that, it will not spin at all, and it sounds like the motor is in a bind. I can spin the tub counter clockwise only about a half of spin and spin it back clockwise for about a spin and a half and it binds again. Does this sound like the clutch or possibly a motor issue. Any opinions are welcome. Also honest opinion if I am better off buying a new washer. Thanks Glenn

You probably have a worn clutch due to bad brake shoes, you can go to my sticky "replacing direct drive washer brake shoes" and to the trany coupler test to confirm.
