Are you talking about the bushing in the middle of assembly #5 on this drawing?

“”In post # 145,that sleeve is shown in the outer tub bearings replacement with a small drill bit pointing to it.It would be on the spinner shaft between the plate and the tub seal.It is no where on the outer tub nor the spinner shaft (inner tub) diagrams.””
That is correct because it is part of the Tub Seal at least mine was. As I mentioned in this post Sleeve over spinner shaft of Maytag Neptune magician59; The Sleeve he is talking about as best as I know is part of the Tub Seal replacement AP4035323 I know of no individual sleeve replacement p/n. See this post FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement I helped two forum members in that post with Outer Tub bearing replacement and Spinner Assembly bearing replacement. I have a pic showing the sleeve he is refereeing that will stay on the Spinner Assembly shaft when you remove the Spinner Assembly from the old Tub Seal in the Outer Tub. That sleeve has to be removed from the Spinner Assembly before re-installing the Spinner Support into the new Tub Seal………...because the new sleeve is pre-installed in the new Tub Seal. See this post FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement one pic is worth 1K words……….Dick Last edited by dh1200s : 02-18-2011 at 10:53 AM. |

I referenced that for jimito I normally put the hyper link in my response. He is referring to this post Water leak I think the post number changes (I could be wrong) with an edit so it now reads post #146. I'm fairly new to the forum. I own three FAV6800A’s a Series 17,15,10. As a technical owner of the machine I’m no expert but I’m very comfortable with machine issues from the Control Board troubleshooting down to Outer Tub bearing replacement of the machine and post on other forums for owner support. jimito from this post Water leak I assume you replaced the Tub Seal during your rebuild is that correct? Did you replace the Outer Tub bearings and Spinner Support bearings if not I would recommend that with the tear down/rebuild of the Outer Tub. I’m not sure why you replaced the tranny. After reading that post Water leak it looks like I dropped the ball on a response back to you sorry about that. I help owners across multiple forums with post, e-mail response and a few phone calls. I sometimes loose track of folks and their issues. I suggest you read through this post FAV6800A/FAV9800A Outer Tub bearing replacement see if it will help and post back if we can help. It’s better to open up one post for this issue and keep the troubleshooting/repair you have done on a single thread. That helps me tie the troubleshooting/repair steps together for fault isolation/resolution…………Dick |
